Hand, food and mouth disease back from the beginning of August
HFMS is no fun. Period. It's not something you can get vaccinated for as it is a virus, not a bacterium. It’s a derivative of polio but it’s not polio. It's one of those really fun diseases where they can eat or sleep. All they can do it run high fevers and cry. Maddox ran a 103+ fever for FIVE days. Then one morning he woke in a sweat puddle, had no fever and drank a tall glass of water. A day or two later he was back to normal. Needless to say I hope we never, ever get it again.

Maddox = love this show. Mama = loves the morals, songs and other goodness about it. We now have a stuffed Muno, Foofa and Plex and for Maddox’s birthday he was given the most annoying boom box and a keytar. He also has some gabba we can bring in the tub and both DVDs. We are a gabba house.
Our 50” television that was no more
Back when I got engaged to my husband (somewhere in the early 2005/late 2004? range) I bought him a Samsung 50” pedestal DLP television. I added a 4 year warranty as I was told the bulb inside would last about 3-4 years. Ours lasted longer. Till about the beginning of August. About six months AFTER our warranty ran out. We shopped new TVs and decided just to fix ours ourselves. Order a bulb based on the code on the back of our TV, lamp came in, opened the TV, guess what? Samsung put the wrong code on the outside of the TV! Ugh. Sent the lamp back, got the new one in yesterday, now we can watch blue ray again. Huzzah.
Baking, the new obsession
I cannot get enough of playing in the kitchen. I am always trying to bake something new and exciting. For Adam’s birthday (25 August) I baked him a multi-berry pie, for my birthday (31 August) I baked a vanilla bean apple cake with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and for Maddox’s birthday I made a devils food cake with a fresh raspberry center, lathered with the same vanilla bean cream cheese frosting from my cake. I also made two dozen vanilla bean cupcakes with dulce de leche buttercream frosting. Can you tell I’m obsessing over vanilla bean right now? I am currently making my own vanilla sugar and own vanilla extract. EXCITING!!!!

A visit from my amazing Dawn
Dawn flew in from London and took the time to drive all the way up to Syracuse to see us!! I was floored, excited to have her for the two night she stayed and was so sad to see her go. Spent time taking pictures, watching MvF and drinking bubble tea. It was wonderful.
Justin Miller got married, waaaaah?
Got a note from one of my good friends saying that he was getting married “next Saturday” and we had to go. It was a blast! I was dubbed official photog, got a lot of really intimate shots. Had a blast.

Going well, really well. Worked on one wedding and have created almost six first drafts for wedding invites. I am so excited about this venture. It is really coming to life for me.
Chalene Johnson is about to kick my ass
With Ama's advice I am starting CLX aka ChaLEAN Extreme tonight. It is a 3/4 month circuit training program. Why not at the end of summer you ask? Because there is no time like the present to give a shit about yourself and your well being. Also, Adam took a lot of picture of me from Maddox's birthday that I cannot bear to look at. I am big now. Really, really big. (for me). I've never weighed 150lbs in my whole life (with the small exception of 168lbs fully 10 months pregnant with Maddox). Right now I weight 149.5# and I going to cry. It's not so much the number on the scale. I would be tickled pink with 150# if I looked okay. But I don't. My stomach is nothing but chub, because I eat like shit and I don't exercise. Well guess what body, you aren't going to be perfect, but I am at least going to car what you look like. Ask me tomorrow if I still have this much gusto...
Uhh—I think that’s it. Maybe there was more. I’ll think of more eventually.
